Mokka Stool — by RAM Furniture
The Mokka Stool is designed by Joram Schurmans for RAM Furniture. Compact, grounded, and quietly confident — it is the kind of piece that earns its place without asking for attention. Four straight legs, a solid top, and nothing more than what the form requires.
Made from smoked oak and finished with oil, the wood carries a deep, warm tone — rich and tactile, with the kind of patina that only deepens with time. Smoking darkens the grain all the way through, giving the material its full-bodied character. The oiled finish keeps the surface open and breathing, letting the wood age naturally.
The name carries two stories. The piece was first conceived for a coffee bar in Ghent, as part of a small table set — though the project was never realised in that space. The name itself comes from Café Mokka in Reykjavík, where Joram spent several afternoons reading his way through a book. A quiet, lived-in coffee bar that has stayed with him ever since.
Use it as a side table, a plant stand, or an extra seat. It holds its own in any room.
